Impossible Flip and Twist

How is this image possible? How can the text above be reflected in the glass in this manner? How can this be explained?  I was inspired by a can of bread crumbs next to a glass of water. Recipes under the heading,  "Get Creative, " skewed when viewed through the glass. I thought it would be interesting to experiment with how water changes images.   The image is an illusion. An identical "get creative" was also printed on the bottom of the page to make it look like the words shown at the top were reflecting into the water glass. This photo showcases the physics of refraction,  where the image seen is dependent upon the refractive indexes of the water and the glass,  as well as the curvature of the glass. If you replicate this experiment,  it is easy to get the words to show backward and skewed. Having them appear upside down is more of a challenge. I had to align the sheet,  the glass and the camera just right to get the creative twist I was trying to achieve. The key is to extend the distance between the paper and the glass until the image appears upside down - you can replicate this with any convex lens. I like that a scientist needs to think creatively and try multiple approaches to confirm a hypothesis,  just as I did in this process of getting my desired image.   So,  it's not impossible,  as long as you know the behind-the-scenes trick!
