School: trinity school During the total solar eclipse on Monday, April 9th, 2024, I took this photo from the roof of my school at 2:51 pm. I used an iPhone through the eyepiece of a pair of binoculars fitted with solar filters. This method of photography is called "digiscoping". Digiscoping is when someone takes a photo through an optical instrument, such as binoculars. I held my phone camera up to the lens and attempted, many times, to get a clear photo of the sun and the moon. I did not shield the camera lens and binocular eyepiece when I took it, so the wide angle of the phone camera caught the stray purple and pink light reflecting off of the binocular's lens. The combination of the light from space and the light from earth makes this rare celestial phenomenon much more personal to me.
