Forces in chinese dragon dance

The Dragon Dance,  known as "Wu Long" in Chinese,  is a quintessential and mesmerizing representation of traditional Chinese folk culture. Graceful dancers apply force to the arm by skillfully tugging on the ribbon's rope,  causing it to rotate elegantly in the air and move in a captivating circular orbit around the arm due to centripetal force. However,  it is essential to note that the angular velocity always aligns perfectly with the direction of the force exerted by the dancer. This delicate and intricate balance of forces enables the ribbon to maintain its mesmerizing rotational trajectory. Simultaneously,  as the ribbon glides smoothly through the air,  it encounters gentle resistance,  which subtly affects its streamlined movement during the enchanting dance performances. Consequently,  this interaction with air resistance results in an elegant and fluid curvature and path formation at its trailing end,  showcasing the profound beauty and power of physics in motion.
