School: future leadership academy Wind causes waves. The camera captures the picture. The stilling tone makes a clear image and the moving waves make a blurry trail. In the physical meaning, exposure is an integral of light with respect to time on the film. The little wind makes some small waves. But when these waves reach the beach, something interesting happens: the shallow bottom makes them grow bigger. With less space for the energy to spread out, the waves speed up and rise higher. I set up my camera on the beach with a tripod, ready to capture the scene. Exposure time is the time between the camera shutter opening and closing, during which light can shine on the film, leaving the object's image on the film. So When I use a long exposure time, moving objects like waves appear blurry in the photo. But stationary objects, like a stone on the beach, remain still and clear. |
