Field of LightBrayden YuAward: Top 100
School: drawing factory With my family, I visited the Sensorio light exhibit in Paso Robles. This photograph showcases the field of glowing lights under the moonlit sky. Each glowing ball in this picture is a source of visible light. These lights emit photons, which travel in waves and into our eyes, where they are interpreted as color by the brain. There are a variety of colors in this image, resulting from different wavelengths of light. Red light has a longer wavelength and lower energy, while violet light has a shorter wavelength and higher energy. This image also showcases the principles of optics. The glowing balls appear brighter due to the dark landscape at nighttime. This is why the Sensorio light exhibit opens once the sun sets. |
