School: wycombe abbey school changzhou I focused on the refraction of light, using a horizontal perspective and a minimalist background. By ingeniously employing the "frame within a frame" composition and a triple contrast of texture, I constructed a stable yet dynamic visual balance and rich layers. I also combined the depiction of physical phenomena with that of character images. The black-and-white style further enhanced the dramatic effect of light and shadow. The work, with a simplified structure that eliminates redundant elements, uses the conflict and integration of shapes, as well as the collision of reality and illusion, to complete a visual experiment that combines a sense of order with tension.Alternatively, one can also focus entirely on the light and shadow and the contours, making the refraction and distortion effects of the containers more prominent.Each water-filled container acts as a simple lens. Their shapes, curvatures, and water contents vary, thus resulting in different refraction effects on light. This causes the human figures behind the containers to appear magnified, reduced, distorted, or even inverted, demonstrating the fascinating characteristics of light propagation in different media.
